Roy was born in Harlem in 1954. He was known as the knowledge holder of the group. He shared stories about growing up during the civil rights movement in the 1950s and 60s. Roy spent many years hustling in the streets before getting sober. He was committed to helping youth and would often say, “I’ve never been a good example of what to do, but I’m a damn good example of what not to do.”
